Mactivate Your Mind, Body, & Spirit is an Exercise and Wellness Referral Program
Mactivate is a program that features a proactive approach to mental health. It is a partnership between Athletics & Recreation, Student Wellness, and other student service areas, to support McMaster students by providing them with opportunities and access to consistent and regular physical activity, with the goal of improving their overall mental health. The program is 8 weeks long, with 3 stages; general goal setting, action planning, and coping planning.
Goals of the Program:
To make physical activity safe, welcoming, and inclusive for students struggling with their mental health and well-being
To reduce barriers to physical activity
To teach participants how to initiate and sustain the activity habits they’ve learned
What does the program include?
3-5 covered personal trainer sessions
6 month follow up with a Mactivate Coordinator
Opportunity to move into a group/peer supported workout setting
Who is eligible?
Any undergraduate student who would benefit from engaging in physical activity but requires support to feel confident accessing the Pulse and/or fitness programming offered through DBAC.
