The McMaster Community Garden (MCG) is a university sustainability initiative dedicated to supporting food security on campus, connecting gardening to mental health promotion, and encouraging local food production through hands-on teaching and learning opportunities that foster engagement across the McMaster community. Everyone is welcome to visit the garden!
During the summer, we donate all of our produce through our weekly farm stands, which run weekly on Mondays and Fridays during the harvest season (specific times to be updated in July). During the fall, we provide no-cost produce for on-campus food security services.
Are you in the Hamilton area this summer? Do you want to come volunteer in the garden at least once a week? If yes, join our volunteer team by completing this form.
If you are looking for more involvement, join our leadership team to take on a bigger role within the garden. Details found within the form.
Looking for a fun summer activity to get you outside and meet new people? Join us for a drop-in garden session at the MCG to get your hands in the dirt and learn about gardening on campus! During the session you will have the opportunity to explore topics related to sustaining a vegetable garden and practice skills such as weeding, watering, and harvesting.
Dress for the weather and wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Any cancellations, updates, or changes to drop-in scheduling will be shared on Instagram via @mcmastercommunitygarden and @mcmasterswc.
Location & Time: Register below to attend a Drop-in shift. Meet us at Garden 1, across from The Phoenix (see map below), every Wednesday. Please see registration form for details (subject to change).
