SWC’s Active Living Team is hosting a step challenge for the remainder of the semester and it’s open to all McMaster students! Get some fresh air, get your steps in, and explore your city with our “Be a Tourist in Your Own City” scavenger hunt.
Every Monday, the week’s scavenger hunt challenge item will be posted on social media. You’ll have until Sunday to find the item, take a picture of it, and upload it to our Google form. Try to complete all 7 challenges for the next 7 weeks. 3 winners with the most challenges completed and 3 random participants will receive a $50 gift card!
Each week the challenge will be posted on Monday on the @McMasterSWC Instagram account. Fill out a brief form to be entered to win!
Active Living Fact; there are a lot of ways to reward yourself when exercising. Although there are a lot of intrinsic rewards for keeping physically active, like improved sleep, mood, and energy levels, sometimes we may need some extrinsic motivation as well. Using fitness apps to track your steps, and having them reward you with badges is one option. Another option is to build a reward into your new habit.
This week we encourage you to take a photograph of your favourite local café! Consider finding an active method of travel to reach the location, then consider grabbing a delicious snack. It’s a great way to reward yourself and support small businesses!
