Alcohol Education
At the next party you attend, don’t be surprised when you meet someone who chooses not to drink alcohol or who chooses to only have 1 or 2 drinks. It is actually more common than you think (NCHA 2016).
You don’t have to put alcohol in your cup. You could choose to not drink, choose to limit the number of drinks you have, or you could choose to alternate alcoholic with non-alcoholic beverages. According to the NCHA Survey, at your next party and you may find…
- About half of students alternate their alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
- 69% of students drink 4 drinks or less
- 27% of students choose not to drink
If you are looking for a way to socialize, let loose and make friendships that will last:
- Join an intramural team
- Get involved with a campus club
- Volunteer with a MSU or McMaster service or in a lab
- Get a fun part-time job
- Invite the people that you often see in your classes to grab lunch with you
